If there are children in your house, you really should grow canary creeper.
It is an easily grown annual which is not intrusive, and its bright yellow flowers are like little birds, with wings, tail and tiny head.
I learnt about it from my father, and grew it in my own back garden.
One of my many happy memories of my youngest grandson is seeing him holding up a canary creeper flower to the breeze and running up my garden path with it.
This is a tender plant, related to nasturtiums, but an excellent climber.
Given a fence or trellis, it will go for the sky. Seeds are easily obtained.
I have tried to draw it on my ipad, but there are photos too.
